Body Scrub Recipe

Just like the skin cells on your face, the cells on your body regularly shed to reveal new, healthier skin underneath.  As we get older that process slows down so the best way to help it along is to use a body scrub.

 

A scrub works in a few ways: As you massage it over your body, the exfoliating granules help to slough off dead skin, and the rubbing action itself boosts circulation and helps drain your lymph nodes, by increasing blood flow to the skin’s surface.

 

Another important benefit of using a scrub is how good it can feel in the moment. Self care moments are so beneficial to our health and wellbeing and our mood. Being mindful of the refreshing texture against your skin and captivating scent that fills the shower allows you to enjoy the treatment as it’s happening—an experience that can lift your mood and affect your outlook as you continue your day or evening.

 

  

 

Ingredients:

1 cup Brown Sugar    OR       ½ cup raw sugar and ½ cup brown

1/3 cup Olive oil        

½ TB honey

Optional extras:

½ TB almond meal

1 TB ground coffee

1tsp cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. Mix together all ingredients thoroughly, removing all lumps. 
  2. Package into an air tight jar. Scrub away. Be careful of slippery surfaces in your shower or bath though.
