Oily skin? You could be over-cleaning

Do you wash your face until its sparkly and shiny? Well, it could be doing you more damage than good.

When you wash your face to the point where it’s so shiny you can see your reflection, your stripping away the essential oils that help regulate sebum production and help regulate acne and blemishes. All the rubbing, moisturising and cleansing could actually be uncovering blemishes instead of keeping them at bay!

First things first…

Use a gentle chemical free cleanser

Always read your labels. Always. Check for parabens, sulphates, alcohol, triclosan, phthalates and any other words that you can’t read or understand. We recommend out Honey and Oatmeal Soap Bar as a perfect cleanser for everyone to use, even the most sensitive.

Be gentle

Don’t pick, prod pop or scratch your face, especially with an old scratchy towel.

Try not to use freezing water or boiling hot warm. Your skin likes luke warm water best.

Hydrate from the inside out

As important as it is to keep your outside healthy, we can’t forget our insides. Make sure to drink plenty of water per day. When you don’t drink enough water, the collagen begins to crack causing fine lines and wrinkles. If it helps, set a timer on your phone reminding you of when to drink up!
