This soap is fresh, spicy and sweet with a hint of warmness from the cinnamon and soothing qualities from the calendula. It’s a very comforting smell and is one of our favourite bars here at Harvest Garden.

Sweet Orange essential oil is a natural anti-inflammatory, it also has anti-bacterial properties. The essential oil of oranges is said to be an anti-depressant because it has a cheering and refreshing fragrance. Historically, the peels of oranges have been used in Chinese Medicine for a variety of ailments. They remain a vital part of Chinese medicine and are thought to bring good luck. The orange tree was brought west by Portuguese explorers in the early 16th century.

Cinnamon is an ancient spice that has been used for thousands of years. It has natural anti-microbial properties. It may help with circulation due to it’s warming effect. It is stimulating and has antiseptic properties.

The oils are infused with calendula petals for their soothing benefits to your skin. Calendula is also known as "pot marigold" or "marigold" and interestingly it refers to the Virgin Mary, with who it has been been associated with since the 14th century, when it was included as an ingredient in an English recipe for fighting the plague. Apart from also being used to honor Mary during Catholic events, marigold was also considered by ancient Egyptians to have rejuvenating properties and Hindus used the flowers to adorn statues of gods in their temples, as well as to color their food, fabrics and cosmetics.

Yellow clay helps to draw out toxins whilst hydrating, nourishing and feeding skin without leaving it feeling dry or tight. It also adds a touch of colour to this bar.
